Truth in the Tinsel Exercises: Active Advent

Truth in the Tinsel Red bg with white tree

Oh. My. Word. Friends, if you haven’t seen the Advent book, Truth in the Tinselit’s a must-have! Sure, it’s meant to be done with small children, but I think anyone would enjoy it!

24 days of well-planned crafts, Scripture, discussion, and more. Such a beautiful, authentic way to tell (and retell) the Christmas story.  Includes supply lists, alternate plans, links to printable ornaments. And… And… Wait for it…

Daily Exercises to coordinate with each day!

I’m so excited to share a 2-page Active Advent printable document full of exercises (including written instructions) that coordinates with Truth in the Tinsel ebook by Amanda White.

While the document itself isn’t all that “pretty” (just a basic, no-frills chart), I think you’re really going to like it. If you’re more of a visual person, you can find the (original aka OLD!) videos here on You Tube.

You can just do the exercises on the day they are listed. Or, if you want to get a little crazy, you can repeat each of the days before (Twelve Days of Christmas-style!) Whew – by the time Day 24 comes around, there’s a chance the little ones will be so worn that you’ll get to sleep in (maybe just a bit more than usual!) on Christmas morning!

    1. Yay! Have fun!

(I initially thought, wow!, she’s really getting ahead of the game thinking about Advent already! —- and then I realized it’s OCTOBER already next week! Crazy! It’ll be here before we know it! 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions!

  1. We were actually working through your link/list of exercises already for this year. We are counting down the 24 school days till Christmas holidays. I went to check your page of links again today, and I found it was gone! Would love to have you send a copy to the links again visa e-mail. Thanks so much!

  2. We typically run laps in the house before starting school in the morning, but we can do these instead! My active boy needs movement before he can focus on learning.

    1. Yes! I’ve got two boys and “active” is definitely an understatement — so I’m right there with you! Get them up and moving! 🙂 Have fun!

  3. I am trying to subscribe and I keep receiving an error. 😦 I’ve been doing Truth In the Tinsel since it’s first year and my 7 year old loves it just as much today as the first year. My husband is deployed and I just hired a personal trainer to help me get back to my active lifestyle and your daily exercises will be GREAT for my daughter and I. I also do the Truth In The Tinsel with our friends that live on our street and I know they will love these too! And I love the idea of doing each one every day like The Twelve Days of Christmas!

    1. Hmmm…. I’ll send you a direct email message and see if we can’t get it to work through there. Thanks for letting me know!

And how exciting to be turning a focus towards your own health, but mixing this faith-based focus in with your daughter as well. (Bless you for being a wife and mama with a deployed partner – I’m grateful for your husband’s (and your!) sacrifice!

      Check your email soon…

  4. Are you going to do this again for 2016? Or is it possible to get the two page download? Sounds like just what we need in our house!
